Generations of Tradition and Trust…. 165 years of community Service For generations we have provided families we serve with compassion, understanding and an unparalleled service. Personal service and attention to the needs of each unique family are our most important responsibilities – before – during – and following the service. Today our family of professionals provide service above and beyond expectations with the personal care they deserve at a fair price.
Funeral Director / Embalmer
I was born in Bellevue, and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1958. I received an Associate's Degree in Education from Heidelberg College in 1960 and graduated from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1962. I returned to Bellevue in 1962 to join my father, Ralph, in the family business.
Over the years I have been involved with the Rotary Club in Bellevue, where I am a charter member and served as president and received the Paul Harris Fellow Award. I am member of the Elks, Eagles, Moose, Knights of Columbus and Immaculate Conception Church. I married Gail (Zeigler) Foos, I have four children: Lisa (Russell) Critelli, Ralph Foos, Brian (Lisa) Foos, and Leslie (deceased), 10 grandchildren and one great granddaughter. I enjoy fishing, golf, and spending time with grandchildren.
Funeral Director / Embalmer
I have lived in Bellevue my entire life. I attended Immaculate Conception School and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1981. I grew up living above the funeral home, for over 30 years. I loved being around my dad, Jerry Foos and my grandfather, Ralph Foos both funeral directors. Over the years, I observed how much they helped people and could tell that it wasn't a job, but a calling for them. As I got older, I was given small jobs around the funeral home. They were sticklers on perfection in every aspect of the business. I started out with yard work, cleaning facilities and cars and eventually graduated to the care of the family’s needs.
I knew all along what my profession would be. Upon graduating from Bellevue Senior High School in 1981, I then earned a Bachelor of Science in Mortuary Science from Xavier University in Cincinnati and an Associate Degree in Applied Science from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1984. I returned home and began my career. I can't imagine doing anything else but being a funeral director.
My philosophy is that every family we serve is entitled to remember and celebrate their loved one in their own unique way. My job is to make suggestions or give ideas and then listen to the survivors, and make their wishes happen. I have made sure that we stay on the cutting edge of cultural changes occurring in our society. Our unique new facilities, in house video production and specialized printed goods are just a few things that make us stand apart.
I'm involved in many groups, clubs and projects in the communities we serve. I believe in community service and giving back to our communities.
I married my high school sweetheart, Lisa Flicker. We have 5 sons, JJ, David, Miles, Ian and Alec. JJ and Miles have joined our family business and Alec who is currently in college at Hillsdale College and is planning on joining us also. David is an attorney and CPA with the Michigan Treasury and Ian is currently on a rifle scholarship at the University of Kentucky. We also have a daughter in law, JJ’s wife, Kelly (Beamer) Foos, Miles's wife Kristen (Wooten) Foos, a granddaughter, Aubrey and grandson Landry. It's really great to have your children follow in your steps and live close by.
Funeral Director / Embalmer
I grew up in in Bellevue, and graduated from Bellevue Senior High School in 2002. I attended Florida Gulf Coast University in Estero, Florida, and graduated from The Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 2006 with an Associate's Degree in Applied Science and a Bachelor's Degree in Mortuary Science. I am a member of Immaculate Conception Church, Elks, Eagles, and Bellevue Area Chamber of Commerce. I am an avid football fam and enjoy being a Bellevue Redmen Varsity Football coach at Bellevue High School. I am married to Kelly Beamer Foos and we have a daughter Aubrey and a son Landry.
I am a licensed funeral director and embalmer working in both Clyde and Bellevue. I am also
responsible for the daily operations at Northern Ohio Monument. Designing monuments is very rewarding for me.
Being in a family business and working with my grandfather, father, and brothers is very special. With everyone bouncing ideas off each other, helps us plan some very meaningful and unique services.
None of this feels like a job to me. It’s just what we do as family.
Funeral Director / Embalmer
I was born in Bellevue in 1993. I grew up as the middle child in the family having two older brothers and two younger brothers. I had a very active childhood spending most of my time playing backyard football, wiffleball, and basketball across the street from the funeral home.
I attended Bellevue High School and was active in football, track, and key club. After graduating in 2012, I began to pursue my dream of becoming a Funeral Director, just like my great-grandpa, grandpa, dad, and brother. In my college years, I attended Lansing Community College in Lansing, Michigan and Owens Community College in Toledo, Ohio before ultimately earning my Bachelor’s Degree in Mortuary Science from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in Cincinnati, Ohio. I live in Clyde, and am excited about settling into the Clyde community. I am a member of the Clyde Moose, VFW, Eagles, and Lions Club. I am a graduate of the Sandusky County Leadership program. I proudly serve on the Sandco Industries Board of Directors which strives to provide meaningful and dignified work opportunities for those with developmental disabilities.
I have many roles at the funeral home, with the primary being the lead person at our Clyde location. I’m currently training my dog, Izzo, in hopes that one day he can be an Emotional Support Dog at the funeral home. In my leisure time I enjoy playing guitar, video games, and spending time with family and friends, especially my wife Kristen (Wooten) Foos.
Video Design/Production
I was born and raised in Bellevue the daughter of Al & Kitty (Lepley) Flicker. We lived on a farm south of town and showed and trained Appaloosa Horses. I graduated from Bellevue Senior High School in 1981. I married Brian in 1982 and we have five sons; JJ, David, Miles, Ian and Alec. I have volunteered extensively in the community and have been a board member of some great local charities. With raising five sons I can throw a pretty mean football pass and fast ball. I have been blessed with a beautiful grandchildren Aubrey & Landry and daughter in laws Kelly & Kristen who bring much joy to my life. After all, I was outnumbered.
In 1984 we experimented with memorial videos but soon found it to be difficult to get them on time for the service. As computers changed and evolved I realized that it was now possible to make the videos right here and have them done overnight. I began to experiment with different programs and formats and taught myself as I went along.
It takes me about 5 hours to complete a memorial video. Being a scrapbooker, each slide is enhanced thus making each video as unique as the individual. I am an Administrative Assistant at Bellevue City Schools during the day and work on videos at night.
I thoroughly enjoy making the videos. It gives me great joy inside to see the video bring smiles and sometimes even laughter through their tears of the happy memories they have to hold on to.
Therapy Dog
“Woof Woof”, aka hello, my name is Miss Millie. I am Gordon Setter born in August of 2017. I am very lovable and enjoy being around people. I’ve been told I’m very pretty too! Anyways, after many months of training, I received my official certification as a therapy dog. Millie, Certified Therapy Dog....sounds good doesn't it!
I met my family, Brian and Lisa in August of 2017. Lisa was having some empty nest issues and I was able to help her through those difficult times. It was then that Lisa thought perhaps I could bring comfort to the families who have suffered loss. I began taking classes at Canine Bliss in Fremont with Kriss Bliss. She is a great trainer for me and Lisa. From puppy pre-school to basic manners and onto the Canine Good Citizen Class. After completing the class, I passed the American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen test in April of 2018. I continue to take advanced classes to maintain my level of obedience. I have been working at the funeral homes in Bellevue/Clyde and I enjoy being in that environment. I can bring comfort to families when most words can’t.
When I am not at the funeral home, I am home with Brian & Lisa doing what puppies like to do. I have an older step-brother, Walter who is a Cavapoo, and I enjoy teasing him. Lisa likes to take me for long walks and short runs. I say short because she’s getting old! In the evening I enjoy sitting in Brian’s lap.
I love my family and look forward to meeting your family.
