Robert L. Heath

Robert L. Heath Sr., 87, of Bellevue passed away peacefully Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home. He was born April 26, 1930 in Continental, Ohio the son of Veron and Florence (Winkle) Heath.

Bob work for Nickel Plate and Norfolk Western for 40 years as Chief Chemist until his retirement in 1989. He served one term on City Council for the City of Bellevue and was a member of First Baptist Church, Bellevue.

He is survived by his wife, Helen L. (McElwain), whom he married November 20, 1971 in Bellevue; a daughter, Judy D. Heath-Strecker; three sons: Larry (Carolyn) Heath, Robert L. (Kim) Heath Jr., and David (Jackie) Heath, all of Bellevue; five step-children: George (Mary) Cooper, Linda (Steven) Cooper-Smith, Dorothy (Dave) Gaebelein, Deborah Cooper-Murray, and Mark (Patty) Cooper; 29 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Bob is preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia L. Heath-Oddo-Jenkinson; grandson, Terry Maxwell Heath; brother, Leland “Lee” Heath; niece, Sherry Heath Wiles; son-in-law, Leslie D. Strecker; stepson, William Cooper, Jr.; and step grandson, Phillip Nigro.

Friends will be received Friday, November 10, 2017 from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will begin on Saturday at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church, 4742 Prairie Road, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Flat Rock Cemetery.
