Earl D. Shaver

Earl D. Shaver, 99, of Clyde passed away Friday, October 6, 2017 at The Ohio Veteran’s Home, Sandusky. He was born October 20, 1917 in Braxton County, West Virginia the son of Frank D. and Ollie E. Shaver.

Earl worked as an assembler at Whirlpool for 28 years, retiring in 1983. He served in the United States Army for four years during World War II. He was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple, Clyde.

He is survived by his son, Mark E. (Brenda) Shaver of Monroeville; daughter, Susann D. (Erwin) Smith of Bellevue; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Thelma G. (Moore), whom he married February 1, 1941 in Weston, WV; a son, Ronald L. Shaver whom passed away serving in Vietnam in 1968; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 from 10 a.m. until a funeral service begins at Noon at Foos Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy., Clyde. Entombment will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens.
