William “Bill” H. Shilling, age 94 of Fremont, OH, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Bay Park Hospital in Oregon, OH. Bill was born November 21, 1930, in Fremont, the son of the late George and Violet Shilling.
Bill proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS New Jersey. Bill was a lifelong Whirlpool employee in Clyde and retired from the company after many dedicated years. He also worked for several years at the Fremont Speedway, "The Track That Action Built." He enjoyed spending his time fishing, golfing, and shooting pool. His easygoing nature and the joy he found in his favorite pastimes will be remembered by all who knew him.
Bill is survived by his children: Tim (Jan) Shilling of Tiffin, Todd (Angie) Shilling of Tiffin, Lori (Greg) Laurer of Fremont and Scott (Michelle) Szakovits of Clyde; first wife, Donna Foster; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy "Dotty" (VanBuskirk - Szakovits) Shilling.
Friends will be received on Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 9:00am until a memorial service at 10:30am at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. Burial and Military Honors will follow at McPherson Cemetery, Clyde.
