William H. “Gassy” Gross, 84, of Bellevue passed away Sunday, January 16, 2022, at The Willows at Bellevue. He was born October 11, 1937, in Toledo, Ohio the son of Cloyce and Doris (Hill) Gross.
Bill proudly served in the United States Navy. He worked as a fabricator at the former Klein Steel company in Bellevue until retiring. He was a member of the Bellevue Elks, Eagles Aerie 490, and VFW Post 1238. He loved to fish, bowl, and golf and was very active in the Eagles and Elks bowling and golf leagues.
Bill married Barbara (Overmyer) on January 18, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky; She preceded him in death in 2001.
He is survived by his son, Marc H. (Mary Lou) Gross; daughter, Linda S. (Greg) Johns of Oak Harbor; 2 grandchildren: Kyle Gross and Heron Miller; 4 great grandchildren: Cameren Gross, Carter Gross, Hayley Greenawald, and Ava Catania.
In addition to his parents and wife, Bill is preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Binting and Peg Brutcher.
Friends will be received on Thursday, January 20 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where a funeral service with Military Honors will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
