Virginia Ann (McGinn) Jarvis, 83, of Bellevue passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021 at the Stein Hospice Inpatient Center in Sandusky. She was born March 3, 1938 in Norwalk, Ohio the daughter of Myles and Marie (Grosswiler) McGinn.
Virginia attended St. Mary’s and St. Paul High School in Norwalk. She worked at ACMI in Norwalk from 1956 until her retirement in 2002. She enjoyed Flea Markets, crocheting, reading, working in her flowers, baking, and the time she spent with her grandsons. Virginia was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue.
She moved to Bellevue when she married her loving husband, John J. Jarvis on June 17, 1972 at St. Mary’s Church in Norwalk. In addition to her husband, Virginia is survived by her daughter, Sally and her husband Jim Ruffing; and grandsons, Trent Anthony Ruffing and Grant Lewis Ruffing of Grove City, Ohio; and two sisters, Gertrude “Gertie” McGinn and Rachel Bowdoin of Norwalk along with many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Myles McGinn, Edward McGinn, Leo McGinn, Jack Young, Leo Ashley, Tim Doughty, Don Bowdoin, and sisters, Marie Doughty, Elizabeth McGinn, Margaret Ashley, Cecilia Young, and Agnes McGinn.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will begin on Thursday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
