Virginia Childers

Virginia Childers, 79, of Bellevue passed away Friday, October 17, 2025 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.  She was born May 14, 1946 in Beaver, KY the daughter of Howard Sr.  and Edith (Reynolds) Wilhite.

Virginia married John F. Childers on August 15, 1965 in David, KY.  He preceded her in death in 2003.  She was a homemaker, and loved taking pictures of her family.  She was a devoted caretaker to her son and grandchildren.  In her spare time she enjoyed completing word puzzles.

She is survived by her three grandchildren: Leslie Childers, Matthew Childers, and Brooke Childers, all of Bellevue; 2 granddaughters: Lydia Forest Childers and Rose Childers; and sisters, Ilene (Steve) Lewis, Glenna Simpson, Brenda Tackett, Linda Gail (Tracy) Strumbo, and Debbie (Terry) Hall.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her son, John Childers; and brothers, Howard A. Wilhite Jr. and Jimmy Wilhite.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place where a funeral service will begin at Noon on Wednesday.  Entombment will follow at Meadow Green Memorial Park, Huron, Ohio.
