Verna M. “Peggy” Meyers, 92, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, January 23, 2025, at the Extended Family Assisted Living in Bellevue. She was born on March 7, 1932, in Clyde, the daughter of George and Alma (Smith) Rogers.
Verna was a homemaker while her children were at home but later worked at the GE Lamp Plant in Bellevue until its closing. She enjoyed baking, garage sales and flea markets as well as playing cards and trips to the casino. She loved her family and adored her grandchildren. She was a member of the Eagles Auxiliary.
Verna married Ralph W. Meyers on September 30, 1950, at The Sorrowful Mother Shrine; He preceded her in death in 1997.
She is survived by her daughter, Patricia (John) Schaffer of Beverly Hills, Michigan; 9 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by daughters, Linda McCarthy and Annette Meyers; grandson, Joseph Schaffer; and siblings: Patricia, Kathryn, Mary Lou, George, Richard, David, and Donald; and son-in-law, Walt Johnston.
A funeral Mass will begin on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
