Tonya Hayward, 82, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at The Willows at Bellevue. She was born December 14, 1943 in Bellevue the daughter of Leon and Betty Jane (Plowright) Shinaberry.
A 1962 graduate of Bellevue High School, Tonya remained involved with her alma mater for many years by helping plan class reunions. Professionally, she served as the office manager for Hayward Rigging while dedicatedly managing her home. Tonya’s faith was central to her life; as a lifelong member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Bellevue, she spent a decade planning funeral luncheons, served four years as a Luther League Advisor, and taught Sunday School. Her community involvement also included supporting the Bellevue Society for the Arts and maintaining memberships with the Elks Lodge 1013, Eagles 490 Auxiliary, and the NRA.
Tonya is survived by her son, Mark Hayward of Bellevue; longtime companion, Ted Seamon of Bellevue; former daughter-in-law, Danielle Sneider of Milan; 7 grandchildren: Katie (Mike) Montgomery, Lauren (Robert) Fields, Ian (Amara) Hayward, Brandon Hayward, Aiden (Lauryn) Hayward, Logan Hayward, and Aria Hayward; and 7 great grandchildren: Karson, Maeve, Finn, Austa, Adelia, Liam, and Rowan; nephew Joe Savey; nieces: Michele (Doug) Adams of Akron and Lynn (Brian) Fledderjohann of Maumee; and numerous great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sons, Gregory and Jeffrey Hayward; sister, Judie Savey; brother, Dennis Shinaberry; and nephew, Dennis Dustin Shinaberry.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will begin at 11 am on Tuesday, June 2 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 209 Southwest Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery.
