Anthony “Tony” Swiger, 57, of Bellevue passed away Friday, February 28, 2025 at the Firelands Regional Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1967 in Norwalk the son of Thomas and Tammy (Salmons) Swiger.
Tony was a 1985 graduate and upon graduation enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He fought during Desert Storm and helped in the liberation of Kuwait. He enjoyed watching baseball and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians. He loved the outdoors, spending hours fishing and hunting. His greatest joys were his children and grandchild, and loved when he earned the title of “Little Grandpa”.
He is survived by his children: Ashley (Meche) Swiger, Marcus (Kassidy) Swiger, Kaity Jo (Logan) Swiger, Lillian Swiger, and Matthew Swiger; grandchild: Charlee Kay Swiger; parents, Thomas and Tammy Swiger; sisters, Debbie (Angelo) DeBlase and Renae (Brad) Taggart; brother, Steve (Marsha) Swiger; beloved dogs, LouLou and Willow; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Tony is preceded in death by his wife, Christina Swiger whom he married May 15, 2015; She preceded him in death in 2022.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 from 11 a.m. until a funeral service begins at 1 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Bellevue Cemetery.
