Thomas Norton

Thomas S. Norton, 74, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at the UH Cleveland Medical Center.  He was born December 29, 1948 in Royal Oak Park, Michigan the son of Gaylord and Elaine (Kraft) Norton.

Thomas grew up in Michigan and worked for the Ford Motor Company.  He moved to Sandusky when he was transferred to the Sandusky plant and would work there until his retirement in 2006.  Tom grew up playing hockey but as he got older fell in love with the game of golf.  He enjoyed golfing everyday he could in his retirement.  Along with golf, Tom enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and was a member of the Firelands Sobriety Motorcycle Club, A.R.M., and the Iron Coffins.  He was a fan of the Detroit Lions and Cleveland Browns.  Tom loved his grandchildren, and especially enjoyed swimming in the pool with them on hot summer days.

He married Peggy (Brooks) Norton on September 16, 1999 in Bellevue.  She survives along with three daughters: Amy (Curt) Sharrow of Fremont, IN, Nancy (Verl) Evans of Bellevue and Crystal (Josh) Pruitt of Fremont; son, Brooks (Sherri) Wott of Fremont; 8 grandchildren: Becky Lee, Kelsey, Connor, Thomas, Tyler, Paige, Taylor, Layla; brother, Tim (Maria) Norton of California; and sister, Kathleen (Jerry) Neil of Michigan.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a daughter, Becky Norton.

Friends will be received on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from Noon until a Time of Remembrance begins at 1 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
