Theresa Ann “Honey” Claus, 82, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at her home. She was born March 28, 1941 in Bellevue the daughter of Ralph and Josephine (Nasonti) Costantino.
Theresa was a 1959 graduate of Bellevue High School. On April 15, 1961 she married Martin Claus at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue in a ceremony officiated by Fr. Albert Bishop. As her children got older, Theresa attended the Sandusky School of Practical Nursing in 1971 and began her career as a Licensed Practical Nurse in 1972 at the former Providence Hospital. She would work as an LPN at Providence until retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Altar Rosary Society, as well as the Eagles Auxiliary, and the former Club Amer-Ital. Theresa enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening, crocheting, taking daily walks through the neighborhood, and cheering on Cleveland’s baseball team. She loved lighthouses, and traveling with Martin, especially to Maine to see them. Theresa was a loving mother, and avid supporter of her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Martin Claus of Bellevue; children: JoAnne Claus of Bellevue and Martin D. (Paula) Claus of Bellevue; 5 grandchildren: Nathan (Kate) Steinmetz, Sarah (Chris) Parrish, Julianna (Jake) Steinmetz, Matthew (Emily) Hill, and Hannah (Carl) Hill; 2 great grandchildren: Alicia and Adalyn; niece: Sandra (Jack) Meyer; nephew: Samuel (Jill) Krafty; Sister-in-law’s: Theresa (Gene) Missler, Ruth (Bob) Frankfather, Patty (Bill) Kulka; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Sharon) Claus and Roger (Berdella) Claus; along with numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents; she is preceded in death by her sibling, Grace (Don) Krafty; and Father and Mother-in-law, Walter and Loretta Claus.
Friends will be received on Sunday, August 20, 2023 from 3-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will begin at 2:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Center Street, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
