Susan Nichols

Susan (White) Nichols, age 79, of Bellevue, OH, passed away on June 28, 2025, at the Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky, OH. Susan was born on October 22, 1945, the daughter of the late Loren and Helen (Bennett) White.

Susan was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who always put family at the center of her life. She found joy in creating lasting memories with those she loved most. A dedicated and active member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary Post #1238, Lyme Congregational Church, and the NARV group. Susan lived a life rooted in service, faith, and community.

She shared a deep and enduring bond with her life companion, Thomas Krupp. Thomas was not only her partner but her closest friend, and their relationship was a constant source of strength and joy in her life.

Her artistic spirit shone through in her many stained glass creations, each piece a reflection of her creativity and patience. Susan also had a gift for storytelling, captivating friends and family with her warmth and humor. In her free time, she could be found tending to her garden, or partaking in one of her favorite hobbies of camping. Susan’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and a deep appreciation for both people and the simple joys of life.

Susan is survived by her daughters, Cynthia (Bill Coburn) Ries and Brenda (Andre) Wilkinson; grandchildren, Izzy Coburn, Kaden Wilkinson, Cypress Wilkinson, Raven Wilkinson, and Vega Wilkinson; siblings, Leon (Pam) White, Mary (M.F.) Perry, Kay (Ron) Herner, and Patricia Layton; numerous nieces and nephews; and her grand-pup, Louie.

In addition to her parents, Susan is preceded in death by her former husband, Raymond Ries; sister, Judith Graber; and brothers-in-law, Johnny Graber and Ken Layton.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 2, 2025, from 4:00pm until a funeral service begins at 6:00pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811.
