Steven J. Miller

Steven J. Miller, age 61 of Green Springs, OH, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, January 13, 2025. Steve was born October 25, 1963, in Fremont, OH, the son of Larry and Lela (Barrick) Miller.

Steve attended Clyde High School, Class of 1982. He worked numerous jobs including Myers Construction, Style Crest, Heagney's, and Armstrong. For the past 32 years, Steve has been self-employed specializing in tile work and flooring. 

The Miller family Sugar Camp was a very special place to him, where they make their own maple syrup.  Steve took great pride in the fact that he built all three of his family homes. He was an avid fan of the Cleveland Browns, who he has been highly disappointed in, but always said, "Thank goodness for The Buckeyes!!." He had an interest in classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows.

Steve was a great person to be around, always having the biggest personality in the room and lived to make others laugh. He befriended everyone he came in contact with and everyone that knew him loved him. Steve was a huge family man, a loving husband, wonderful father, and the best papa to his grandkids. He was also a forever loyal son, brother, uncle and friend always looking forward to spending time with them. 

In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his wife, Kelley (Gish) Miller, whom he married September 23, 1988; daughters: Taylor (Kyle) Lagrou of Green Springs, and Madison (Cole Slone) Miller of Clyde; grandchildren: Kyleigh, Kayden, and Kyser McHugh, Chloe, Carson and Claira Lagrou; brothers: Chad (Missy) Miller of Republic, and Charlie (Patti) Miller of Green Springs; father and mother-in-law: Larry and Bobbi Gish of Fremont; sisters-in-law: Terri Henry of Fremont and Monique Gish of Parma; nieces and nephews: Dylan and Olivia Henry, Spencer, Garret, and Hannah Miller; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Steve is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Adam and Annarose Miller; maternal grandparents: Harold and Inez Barrick; uncles: Charles and Kenny Miller; aunt, Roseann England; brother-in-law, Shawn Gish; and sister-in-law, Jodie Miller. 

Friends will be received on Monday, January 20, 2025, from 12-3pm & 4-7pm at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 11:00am, also at the funeral home, with a luncheon immediately following at the American Legion in Green Springs. No graveside services will be held.
