Steven W. Fox, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully at his Norwalk home on Thursday, June 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 72 years old. Born May 1, 1953, in Fremont, Ohio, to Walter and Evelyn (Dickman) Fox, Steve lived a life filled with passion, craftsmanship, and unwavering love for his family and community.
A skilled craftsman, Steve owned and operated Sli Fox Construction, building numerous homes in Bellevue and the surrounding area, leaving a lasting mark on the landscape. Following his time as a builder, he transitioned to maintenance work in the Hunters Glen subdivision in Norwalk, where he formed many cherished relationships, something he did wherever he went.
Steve's adventurous spirit was evident in his love of Harley Davidson motorcycles, particularly the cross-country trips he enjoyed with his wife, Paula. In his younger years, he was an avid runner, and a fearless skier, embracing the thrill of the slopes on family vacations out west. Later in life, he found joy in the meticulous crafts of flint knapping knives.
Beyond his hobbies, Steve was known for his generous heart and unwavering support for those around him. His motto, "I love you man, there is too much hatred in this world, pass it on," reflects the kindness and compassion that defined his character. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Steve is survived by his devoted wife, Paula (Roeder) Fox, whom he married on September 19, 2003, in Monroeville; his sons, Duke (Kimberly) Fox, Tom Reineck, and Wesley (Torri) Reineck; his daughters, Emily (Raymond) Dougherty and Jennifer Reineck; his grandchildren, Maximus Dougherty, Laken Dougherty, Cade Graham, Braden Graham, Kaelin Reineck, Quinn (Miguel) Tackett, Eian Reineck, and Lilly Reineck; his brothers, Keith (Jane) Fox, Dan (Christie) Fox, Jeff (Laurie) Fox, Mike (Rhonda) Fox, and Dennis (Kathy) Fox; and his sisters, MaryPat (Don) Vollmar, Diane (Jeff) Holmer, Barb (Tom) Curran, Jane (John) Baker, Kathy (Bart) Clouse, and Theresa (Barry) Stanley; sisters-in-law, Linda Fox and Kami (Chris) Roeder Luers; brothers-in-law, George (Connie) Roeder and Jessie Roeder; and mother-in-law, Jessie Roeder.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jax Dougherty; brothers, Ken Fox and Jimmy Fox; brothers-in-law, Will Roeder and John Best and father-in-law, George Roeder.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 16, 2025, from 3-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, 250 Benedict Ave., Norwalk, Ohio 44857.
