Sherry Jarrett, 64, of Bellevue, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 5, 1961, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to Roy and Barbara (Dials) Mingus.
Sherry worked for the United States Postal Service as a Rural Mail Carrier, through which she forged many lasting friendships.
Her passion was caring for her many animals throughout the years. She enjoyed being outside, taking care of her flowers, and watching all the birds visit her feeders. Sherry loved all of the holidays, being with her family, and making sure all of their bellies were full. She also enjoyed weekend trips to Amish Country and drives around the lake with John. Above all, she adored her grandchildren and will be fondly remembered by many for her warm and welcoming smile.
She is survived by her devoted husband, John Jarrett, whom she married on May 24, 1980, in Bellevue. Also mourning her loss are her two sons, Shawn (Erin) Jarrett and Jonny (Brandy) Jarrett, whom she was so proud of; four grandchildren, Josie, Kourtney, Dalton, and Callie Jarrett; her sisters, Sheila (Keith) Reichelderfer and Shelly (Michael) Schenk; her mother, Barbara Mingus; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Sherry was preceded in death by her father.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects on Wednesday, July 30, from 5-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, located at 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 11 a.m., followed by burial at York Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Sherry’s honor may be made to the Sandusky County Humane Society, 1315 N River Road, Fremont, Ohio 43420.
