Ryan Luke Rathbun

Ryan Luke Rathbun, age 44, of Fremont, OH, passed away at his residence on August 20, 2025. Ryan was born on September 9, 1980 in Long Beach, CA, the son of Gregory Rathbun and Angela (Olsen) Sabo. 

Ryan was a skilled chef and butcher, sharing his talents most recently as a chef at Poseidon Lounge in Port Clinton. Outside of his career, Ryan had a deep love for dogs, especially his beloved companions Sumo and Osiris. He also enjoyed art and music, which reflected his creative spirit and appreciation for life’s beauty. Known for his easygoing nature and good sense of humor, Ryan made lasting connections with everyone he met and brought comfort, laughter, and joy to those around him. Above all, he was deeply loved by his large and devoted extended family, who will carry his memory in their hearts forever.

In addition to his mother, Ryan is survived by his siblings, Katie (Nate) Batteline, Cara (Evan) McNichols, and James (Cheyenne) Rathbun; and nieces and nephews, Neely, Noelle, Calvin, Levi, and Natalie.

In addition to his father, Ryan is preceded in death by his Step-Father, Dan Sabo; paternal grandparents, Don and Barb Rathbun; and maternal grandparents: James and Elizabeth Olsen and Irene Kett.
