Robert “Robbie” V. Linder, age 83, of Powder Springs, Georgia, passed away at his residence on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, with his family by his side. Born on February 14, 1943, he was the son of Alice K. (Beasley) Smith and Robert F. Linder.
Robbie was raised in Bellevue and went on to serve in the United States Air Force from 1961 to 1966. Following his military service, he dedicated over 36 years to his career with the Norfolk Southern Railroad.
He was a passionate fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes and NASCAR. Robbie cherished the time he spent with his friends and his beloved family dog, "Deuce”, and loved a good game of UNO. He also held memberships with Eagles Aerie 791 in Norwalk and American Legion Post 83 in Sandusky.
He is survived by his wife, Bobbi (Fields), whom he married on April 17, 2002; daughter, Dawn Carter of Fremont; 3 grandchildren: Randi Carter, Nicholas (Nicole) Carter, and Alex Mestrey; 2 great grandchildren: Genavieve Carter and Dominic Carter; sister, Coralee Sue “Susie” Strow of Fremont; Brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe and Joyce Fields; niece, May Fields of Nebraska; nephew, Shaun (Ashley) Hinds of Washington; great-nephews, Brody Hinds and Niko Hinds; and great-niece, Callie Hinds.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul R. Smith; son, Robert F. Linder II; stepson, Tod Boogher; grandson, Cayden Boogher; brother-in-law, Rodney A. Strow; and father and mother-in-law, Bob and Pat Fields.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, May 26 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A graveside service with military honors will begin at Flat Rock Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a veterans charity of the donor’s choice.
The family would like to extend thank you’s to the Georgia Hospice, their friends in both Ohio and Georgia, and their Norfolk Southern families for all the support provided over the past months.
