Robert L. “Clancy” Young, age 80 of Clyde, passed away Friday, February 14, 2020 at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. Robert was born October 22, 1939 in Anna, Ohio the son of the late Leroy and Mildred (Brackney) Young.
Robert was the restaurant manager of the former Clancy’s in Bellevue for 17 years. He was also a former sales person for Schwans Home Delivery Service until his retirement. He was a two-time past Exalted Ruler and life member of the Bellevue Elks and an avid Ohio State Buckeyes, Cleveland Browns, and Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed playing cards especially euchre and poker.
Robert is survived by his wife, Sharon (Pridemore) Young of Clyde; sons: Andy (Cathy) Young of Galena, OH, and Matt (Rheannan) Young of Cincinnati; daughter, Arianne (Ed) Gabele of Lewis Center, OH; step-son, Chad Pridemore of Orlando, FL; 8 grandchildren; niece, Brittany Simpkins, of whom he was guardian of; and close friend, Jeff Bliss of Clyde.
In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Flora Baker.
Friends will be received Tuesday, February 18, 2020 from 4-7pm and Wednesday, February 19, 2020 from 10-11am at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410. A funeral service will be held, Wednesday at 11am also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert’s honor to the Elks Scholarship Fund.
