“Coach” Robert A. Waskielis - Bellevue, Ohio
January 3, 1946 - March 22, 2026 Age 80
Beloved husband of Charlotte (Bacci) for 57 years. Son of Albert & Marie Waskielis (deceased.) Survived by siblings: Carol Billy, Peggy Kocisko (John), Patrick (Cheryl) & Michelle Cleveland (Jeff). Preceded in death by brother, Thomas, (Laverne) Waskielis.
Father of Robert Louis Waskielis (Tracy) & Stacey Marie Waskielis Petti.
Cherished “Papa” to Jacob, Sydney & Jack Waskielis as well as Logan & Tyler Petti. Bob was the favorite uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A 1964 graduate from Maple Heights High, Bob was drafted into the Army and was stationed at the Panama Canal. He later attended Cuyahoga Community College.
It may have been his enthusiasm for Corvettes that tipped the scale in his romance with Charlotte—they married in 1969.
After relocating his family to Bellevue in the 70s, Bob was eventually employed by S. A. Comunale, opened their first successful branch office and remained with them for over 45 years.
Active in both the Elks and the Eagles, Bob served as the Exalted Ruler of the Bellevue Chapter of the Elks. He loved golfing, boating and being with his family at Bay Point in Marblehead, Ohio. No one was a greater diehard fan of Cleveland sports.
Putting all these things aside, Bob’s greatest joy in life were his grandkids. He prided himself in finding hilarious gag gifts for each one every Christmas.
Those who really knew Bob might say he never met a “Bloody Mary” he didn’t like and we loved every one he made for us.
Contributions may be made in Bob’s name to the “Bellevue Elks Scholarship” program, 214 West Main Street, Bellevue, OH 44811
