Robert Grover of Republic passed away at the age of 92 years, of a worn-out, much-used heart on Saturday, September 22, 2018. He was born July 14, 1926 in Wood County, Ohio the son of Cloyce and Mary (Storeholder) Grover.
Robert served in the United States Army during the Korean War Era. He worked as a farmer and for General Electric in Tiffin until retiring in 1985. Bob was a member of the Republic American Legion, and enjoyed farming, gardening, and reading. He loved animals, and raised sheep, dogs, and cattle.
He is survived by his two sons: Paul (Nanci) Grover of Robinson, IL, James (Vicki) Grover of Godfrey, IL; three daughters: Mary (Edward) Werner of Sandusky, Janet (Charles) Balduf of Attica, and Margaret (Paul) Anseline of Australia; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; Siblings: Richard Grover of Georgia, Dolores Grover of Findlay, Susanne Grover-Huffman of Tiffin; Step-children: Rosemarie (Dennis) Jaeckin, Mary Martin (Al) Bandman, Steve (Mattie) Miller, Charles Miller, William (Bev) Miller, Elizabeth Miller, Barbara (Walt) Dietrich, JoAnne (Richard) Bernard, and Gina (Michael) Williams; and numerous step-grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death in 2001 by his first wife, Otillia “Tillie” (Miller) Grover, whom he married April 11, 1953 at Reed Assumption; second wife, Irene McLaughlin Miller-Grover, whom he married May 28, 2002; siblings: Alice William, Virginia LaFontaine, Mark Grover, Carl Grover, and Sara Grover.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 30, 2018 from 2-6 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will begin at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 1 at St. Gaspar del Bufalo, 16209 County Road 46, Bellevue. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery.
