Robert Furniss

Robert L. Furniss, age 92 of Clyde, passed away Friday, May 22, 2020 at his home. Robert was born October 29, 1927 in Cleveland the son of the late Clarence W. and Rose M. (Stenger) Furniss.

Robert served in the United States Navy and worked for Standard Oil. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clyde and the AMVETS. He enjoyed model railroading and RVing, in which he traveled over 91,000 miles.

Robert is survived by his wife, Joan (Abel) Furniss, whom he married September 16, 1950 at St. Francis de Sales in Parma, OH; children: Steve (Jayne Repp) Furniss of North Ridgeville, OH, Sharon (David) Wade of Clintonville, OH, and Elaine Holtz of Louisville, KY; 4 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his son, Eric Furniss, and two brothers: Kenneth and Raymond Furniss.

Services for Robert will be held privately.
