Surrounded by his loving family, Robert Anselm Antalek, 89, of Bellevue passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Lord on March 22, 2020. Robert was born on April 21st, 1930, in Endicott, New York. The son of the late Frank Antalek and Elizabeth (Hranek-Antalek) Jurek.
On November 25, 1948, Robert married his lovely bride Mary Margaret O’Donnell at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, in Buffalo, NY and together they raised eleven children. They were blessed with 60 years of marriage before Mary’s passing. Robert worked as a Carman on the Nickel Plate and Norfolk and Western Railroad for 33 years, until his retirement on September 1, 1981. Dad was an animal lover and had many pets over the years. He was an avid sports enthusiast and loved watching golf and football. He bowled on many leagues and was an airplane buff, building many models over the years. He was gifted with his hands and enjoyed his hobbies. He built his own ultra-modern stereo system from scratch and it was a constant source of enjoyment for us, listening to his country music. His love of music helped cultivate many talented musical abilities, within our own family. Dad was hard-working and showed his love by providing for his wife and children. He will be greatly missed and we were deeply blessed to have him as our Father and Grandfather.
He is survived by his four sons, Bob J. (Minda) Antalek of Daly City, CA, David (Fran) Antalek of Pleasant Hill, CA, Thomas Antalek of Bay Point, CA, and John Antalek of New York City, NY; five daughters, Mary Beth Antalek of Buffalo, NY, Theresa Thomas of Fort Gratiot, MI, Kathleen (John) Piscitello of Westfield Center, OH, Lorraine (Steve) Smith of Norwalk, Ohio and Colleen Porter (Donald) of Bellevue; 17 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Francis (Mary Jo) Antalek of Toledo, Ohio; and sister, Mary Ann Geampa of Buffalo, NY. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary (O’Donnell), Sons, Michael, Steven and Patrick Antalek.
As an expression of love and concern for the community the Antalek Family is holding private services. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
