Richard “Skip” Vandergriff, age 74, of Clyde, OH, passed away peacefully at his residence on April 13, 2025. Richard was born on February 21, 1951, in Sandusky, OH, son of the late Jacob and Tressa (Miles) Vandergriff.
Richard was a devoted outdoorsman, best known for his love of guns and hunting, passions he celebrated each year on his cherished trip to the hills of West Virginia. A proud and active member of the Clyde’s Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie #2291 and a life member of the Clyde’s V.F.W. Post #3343, Richard valued camaraderie and service. He worked with dedication throughout his career, retiring in 2007 as a respected member of the #669 Sprinkler Fitters. His legacy is one of loyalty, tradition, and a deep appreciation for the simple joys of the outdoors.
Richard is survived by his wife, Yolanda Vandergriff, whom he married on February 14, 1987, in Rudolph, OH; children, Melissa (Chad) Miller, Josh (Samantha) Vandergriff, and Ashley Bursiek; grandchildren, Jacob (Jessica), Aubrey, Cayden, Carter and Hannah; niece, Tracey (Tracy) Meadows; and one great grandchild that he was immensely excited to meet in December.
In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth “Becky” Cutright; brother in law, Don Cutright; and aunt, Louise Whitehead.

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, April 18, 2025 from 4:00-6:00pm at Clyde’s V.F.W. Post #3343, 847 W Maple St, Clyde, OH 43410. Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 504 E. McPherson Hwy, Clyde, OH 43410 is in care of arrangements.
