Richard Bores Obituary

Richard Charles Bores was born Sept. 17, 1945 to Richard E. Bores and Alice M (Roeder) Bores.  He completed his journey in life at The Willows at Bellevue on March 16, 2026.  Richard was the oldest of five boys.  He attended grade school at Bismark Grade School.  He graduated from Monroeville High School in 1963.

Rich went to work for two years at a fertilizer plant before starting work at B&O railroad.  He was in the Army Reserve for six years and was active for eight months.  He met his wife Barbara and they were married Sept. 21, 1968.  They had two children, Craig Richard Bores and Christine Anne (Bores)Greilich.  Rich was working full-time for N&W railroad and also farmed full-time.  He had a journey man card for electricity and was a member of IBEW. When asked he said his hobby was work.  He retired from the railroad after 40 years.  In his younger days he would drag race his 65 Chevelle.  He was a jack of all trades and could fix anything.

His grandchildren were the light of his life and he enjoyed going to football, basketball, track, and volleyball games.  He also enjoyed family get-togethers. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Barbara; Children, Craig (Amy) Bores of Tiffin, Christine (Shane) Greilich of Bellevue; Grandchildren, Rachel (Brady) Ferres of Bellevue, Taylor Greilich of Bellevue, Trent Greilich of Bellevue, and Jack Bores of Tiffin; and brothers, Steve (Kathy) Bores of California, Robert (Pam) Bores of Bellevue, John (Mary Lou) Bores of Bellevue, and Mark (Patti) Bores of Monroeville.

He is preceded in death by parents Richard and Alice Bores and his in-laws Edwin and Delores Miller and his grandparents.  We would like to thank all the amazing staff at The Willows at Bellevue and Buckeye Hospice.
