Reverend Wayne Randolph Mott, age 80 of Sebring FL, passed away Thursday May 17th, 2024. He was born April, 17, 1944 to the late Mary and Ray Mott of St. Paris, OH. He was a graduate from Graham High School Class of 1962 and an Army veteran.
Rev. Mott received his bachelor degree from Anchor Theological Seminary and was a Shepard of many flocks. Rev. Mott served as pastor at Honey Creek Independent Baptist Church, Christiansburg, OH; Independent Baptist Church and School, New London, OH and was Assistant Pastor at Harvest Baptist Temple, Clyde, OH where he also co-hosted on the church airways, ClearAir Radio. During his retirement Rev. Mott continued to faithfully share the word of God to the many churches he was invited to and meetings he attended. After moving to Florida, he was an active member and contributor to the Independent Baptist Church of Sebring, FL.
Rev. Wayne loved the outdoors especially fishing, hunting, trapping, and mushroom hunting. He was a member and officer of the Ohio Trapper’s Association for many years. He enjoyed golfing especially with his friends of the “Rat Pack”. He always could share a funny story, enjoy a good steak and share laughter with his family and friends. He was a wonderful caretaker for his family when they needed him most.
Rev. Mott is survived by his two sons Wayne R. Mott of Piqua, OH, and Bradley H. (Louise) Mott of Highland Falls, NY. Six grandchildren, Bretannia (Ryan) Leach of Fletcher, OH, Matt Kiser of Ft. Loramie, OH and Scout (Cory) Branscum of Piqua, OH, Bradley, Brian and Benjamin Mott of Highland Falls, NY. and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Cinda (Robert) Bright of Troy, OH and a sister-in-law, Julie Campbell also of Troy, OH.
Rev. Mott was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Gloria (Leapley) Mott. He also shared his life with his late wife, Cleo Mott.
Friends will be received Tuesday, May 28, 2024 at Harvest Baptist Temple in Clyde, OH beginning at 9:00 a.m. with funeral services to follow at 10:00 a.m. Graveside services will take place later in the day at Honey Creek Cemetery in Christiansburg, OH, beginning at 3:30 p.m.
