Raymond Meyer

Raymond “Butch” Meyer, 71, Bellevue passed away Saturday, April 22, 2023, at Fisher-Titus Hospital in Norwalk.  He was born September 20, 1951, in Bellevue, the son of Richard and Anna Marie (Dendinger) Meyer.

Ray was a member of Bellevue Eagles Aerie 490 and Norwalk Eagles Aerie 711, where he always enjoyed buying out a pull tab game; He was an avid racing fan, whether watching NASCAR or attending a local dirt track. He enjoyed going out to eat with family and friends and would never let you pay the bill.  He was a loving father and cherished his time spent with his grandchildren.

Ray married Marlene Claus on October 12, 1973 at St. Michael’s Church in Bellevue; She survives along with their two children: Cathy Savage of Bellevue and Craig (Maria) Meyer of Vermilion; 4 grandchildren: Carrington, Kevin, Henry, and Jacob; sisters, Marlene (Rick) Manbeck of Bellevue and Jeanne (Jerry) Leis of Tiffin; Brothers and sisters-in-law: Charles (Nancy) Claus, Bill (Donna) Claus, Jim Claus, Kathy (Nick) Kreinbrink, Rose Fay, Ron Claus, and Betty (Steve) Wasserman; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and son, Kevin Meyer.

Friends will be received on Thursday, April 27, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  A funeral Mass will begin on Friday at 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
