Peter Nielsen Obituary

Peter H. Nielsen passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday September 27. He was Born on May 20, 1950. He was adopted into his forever home to Harold and Martha Nielsen of Columbus, Oh. He is survived by his two daughters Danielle (Lee) Waldrup of Bellevue, Oh. and Melissa (Kristian) Richert of Glenmont, Oh. He was also blessed with 10 grandchildren. Jaylyn, Ethan, Taylor, Bentley, Colton, Kensli, Addi, Jaxon, Greyson, and Leon.

Peter enlisted in the United States Navy in 1970 and served his country in The Vietnam War as a Field Medic. He continued to be involved by becoming a member of his local chapter of the American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed presenting the colors in parades all over the United States, before his health declined and he was no longer able to do so.

You could find him spending his time volunteering at the VA hospital, sitting by the pond watching “his ducks”, or watching football and basketball.

His love for the Buckeyes was like no other. He would Cheer for the Buckeyes no matter the sport. He was also a big fan of Navy Football.
