Pauline D. Nichols, age 89 of Clyde, OH, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at Majestic Care of Clyde. Pauline was born June 23, 1935, in Plattsburgh, NY, the daughter of the late Harry Owen Sanger and Elizabeth (Pickel) Sanger-Annis.
Pauline was a loving mother and grandmother whose heart and home were always open. She found true joy in having a house full of people—never quite knowing how many would be over for dinner, but always making room for one more. Pauline had a generous and selfless spirit, always ready to lend a hand or a listening ear to anyone in need. Her deep faith in God was the foundation of her life, and she loved attending church and living out her beliefs with grace and kindness. Known as “Mom” to more than just her own children, she was a mother figure to the entire neighborhood. Her legacy of love, faith, and hospitality will live on in all who were lucky enough to know her.
Pauline is survived by her children: Kenneth (Jane) Passno of Texas, Kevin (Carol) Passno of New York, and Doris (John) Sinclair of Clyde; grandchildren: Danny, Nicole, Thomas, Jeffrey, Ashley, Stephanie, Robert, Joel, Ryan, Nichole, and Heather; many great-grandchildren; and her sister, Linda Cook of Chazy, NY.
In addition to her parents, Pauline is preceded in death by her first husband, Donald Passno; second husband, Melvin Nichols; sons: Richard and Andrew Passno; and siblings: Harry, Bob, David, Helen, Elizabeth, Dawn, and Linda.
Services for Pauline will be held privately.
