Paul Siesel Obituary

Paul Siesel, 94, of Bismark passed away Sunday, June 7, 2026 at Admiral’s Pointe Nursing Home & Rehabilitation Center in Huron.  He was born January 29, 1932 in Monroeville, Ohio the son of Urban J. and Theresa A. (Fritz) Siesel.

 A veteran of the United States Army, Paul served from 1953 until receiving his honorable discharge in 1955. Upon returning home, he wed his devoted wife of 68 years, Alice M. (Phillips), on November 30, 1957. Paul’s professional life was spent as an operating engineer, and he held membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers (IUOE) Local 18. His community involvement included memberships with the Norwalk VFW, the Monroeville American Legion, the Bellevue Eagles 490, and the Knights of Columbus in Attica. Paul had a great passion for anything mechanical—from operating construction equipment, Allis-Chalmers tractors and classic ’55 Oldsmobile car to snowmobiles and vintage toys.  He found joy in camping, traveling, and woodworking. He was also a dedicated supporter of Cleveland sports teams and cherished the time spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Alice M. Siesel; sons: Gary (Kathy) Siesel of Bellevue, Gregory (Jane) Siesel of Aliso Viejo, CA, David (Wendy) Siesel of Republic, Jim (Pam) Siesel of Temperance, MI, Jon (Angela) Siesel of Shiloh, and Daniel Siesel of London, OH; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and brother, Joseph (Jane) Siesel of Fremont.

In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by siblings, Mary Anne Bischoff, Roger Siesel, Dennis Siesel, Kenneth Siesel; and daughter-in-law, Jennifer Siesel.

Friends will be received Friday, June 12, 2026 from 3-6 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue; The Rosary will be recited at 2:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will begin on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Catholic Church, 16209 CR 46, Bellevue.  Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Sebastian Cemetery.

In lieu of gifts, the family is requesting donations to be sent in honor of Paul to any of the following: Catholic Charities; Cure Alzheimer’s Fund; Disabled American Veterans (DAV).
