Norman Provonsil, age 87 of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at The Bellevue Hospital. Norman was born April 23, 1932 in Providence, Rhode Island the son of the late Clifford and Ida (Auger) Provonsil.
Norman was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul. He was also the President of the Bellevue Baseball Commission for over 40 years. Norman served in the United States Army in the Korean War from 1952 to 1954 and later worked as an accountant for General Motors until his retirement in August of 1990. He was an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox, Notre Dame, and the New England Patriots. Norman loved to spend time with his family, especially the yearly golfing trips to York, PA.
Norman is survived by his children: Mike (Brenda) Provonsil of Beavercreek, OH, Stephen (Stephanie) Provonsil of Gardner, MA, and Ann Marie (Bill) Kerstetter of Bellevue; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren with another on the way; brother, Kenny Provonsil of Lexington, AL; and daughter-in-law, Prissy Provonsil of Texas.
In addition to his parents, Norman is preceded in death by his wife, Jane Ann (McNamara) Provonsil whom he married February 12, 1955 in Cranston, RI; his son, Norman Provonsil; brothers: Cliff and Donald; and his sister, Eileen.
Friends will be received Thursday, December 12, 2019 from 4-7:00pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Pl, Bellevue, OH 44811. A rosary will be recited prior to visitation at 3:45pm. A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, December 13, 2019 at 11:00am at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E Center St, Bellevue, OH 44811. Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
