Nancy Jo (Thompson) Washburn

Nancy Jo (Thompson) Washburn,74, of Bellevue, OH, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2025. 

Nancy was born on December 12, 1950 in Elkhart, IN. She was the third of seven children born to William Thompson and Charlotte Thompson. Later in her childhood, her family moved to Bellevue, OH where she attended Thompson School and graduated from Bellevue High School in 1969. Nancy married Roger Washburn on June 1, 1979. 

Anyone who had the blessing of knowing Nancy will agree that her faith, her love, her constant smile, and her kindness truly encompassed who she was. Being a mother and grandmother were her greatest joys, and she was so proud to support her children and grandchildren in any way she could. Family was absolutely everything to Nancy. She loved her siblings and longed for every opportunity to spend time with them. She cherished the friendships she made throughout the years, especially her lifelong friendship with Deb (Dominy) Powell.

Her everlasting faith in Christ was not only inspiring, but contagious. She never doubted God’s plans for her life and found peace in knowing He will always provide. Her faith gave her strength, and she was adamant about sharing her faith with others. 

Nancy enjoyed walking the beach, finding lucky stones and beach glass, watching sunsets, painting, and making memories with the ones she loved. Her positive spirit was a beacon of light that shined brightly in this world. She always found time to appreciate the little things, the peacefulness of each day, and the beauty of God’s creations. 

As we remember Nancy, may we share in her deep-rooted faith in Christ, her love for family, and her compassionate kindness to all. 

Nancy is survived by her daughters Erica (Brad) Bickhart, Amy (Justin) Walters; her stepson, Scott (Darcy) Washburn; grandchildren Cassie Shuff, Trey Washburn, Ethan (Kayla) Washburn, Isaiah Washburn, Cory Washburn, Dorian Bickhart, Weston Walters, Duke Walters, and Crew Bickhart, and great-grandson, Azariah Washburn; her siblings Brent Thompson, Deb Lange, Tim Thompson, Craig (Diana) Thompson, LouAnne (Gary) Shrewsbury, and Steve (Laura) Thompson; numerous nieces and nephews-all of whom she loved so dearly.

Nancy is preceded in death by her husband, Roger, her mother, Charlotte, her father, William, her stepson, Cory, and nephew, Jonathan. 

A visitation will take place on Saturday, July 26 from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811. A private ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. for the family.
