Norman Joseph "Joe" Pifher, 86, of Waterville and formerly of Bellevue, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. He was born on February 19, 1939, in Omar, Ohio to the late Leo and Eleanor (Smith) Pifher.
Joe was a devoted husband and father, marrying Carol Miller on October 19, 1963, in Bellevue, a marriage that lasted for over 62 years. Carol recently preceded him in death and met Jesus on May 3, 2025.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army from 1960 to 1965. He also enjoyed his work with General Motors New Departure for over 32 years, retiring in 1998.
Joe was a devout Catholic and member of Immaculate Conception Church and a Life Member of the Knights of Columbus, notably serving as Grand Knight four times. He was also a dedicated member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 490 and the VFW Post in Sandusky.
Joe is survived by his four children: Kevin (Tracy) Pifher of Cincinnati, Kent (Robin) Pifher of Cleveland, Kyle Pifher of Sunbury, and Kendra Doriot of Waterville. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Kortney (Eddie), Taylor (Michael), Teegan, Carter, Quinlan, Adilyn, and great-granddaughter, Juliette.
In addition to his wife and parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brothers, Tom and Gene Pifher, his sisters, Arlene Slagle and Barb Isaac, and his daughter-in-law Karla (King) Pifher.
The family would like to express gratitude to Hospice of Northwest Ohio (Perrysburg), and all family and friends who offered prayers and support.
Friends will be received Friday, November 28 from 10-11:30 am at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral Mass will begin at Noon at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Main Street, Bellevue. Burial with military honors will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials and contributions will be graciously accepted to the Sorrowful Mother Shrine, Hospice of Northwest Ohio, and Immaculate Conception.
