Myrl "Jonnie" Pierce

Myrl Dean “Jonnie” Pierce, 85, of Bellevue peacefully passed away Friday, October 13, 2023, in her home surrounded by her children. Jonnie was born August 12, 1938, in Haleyville, AL the daughter of John William and Sara Rose Mae (Colburn) Pierce.

Jonnie was a 1957 graduate of Bellevue High School and attended Tiffin University in Tiffin, Ohio. She worked at General Electric Lamp Plant in Bellevue and then worked in Bucyrus plant until she retired in 1994.

Jonnie loved flowers, gardening, traveling, knitting, crocheting, and baking, as well as attending luncheons with her former classmates and coworkers. Her favorite pastime was spending time with her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, and leading them in a life of service to others. Jonnie was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue, Ohio.

Jonnie is survived by her children: Mary Grace Gibson of Bellevue, Regina (Steve) Shupe of Batavia, and Dana (Rocky) Eskins of Bellevue; her grandchildren: Corey (Shelly) Gibson, Shannon (Joshua) Asbach, Krista (Jeffrey) DeBlase, Courtney (Kane) Minnich, Bryan (Monica) Shupe, Emily (Wesley) Mathias, Erica (Derek) Parker, Elaina Emerson, and Zachary Eskins; and her great grandchildren: Brady Wicker, Robert and Katherine Asbach, Mark, Thomas, and Theodore DeBlase, James and Josephine Minnich, Amelia Shupe, and Paisley and Kinsley Mathias.

Jonnie is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers: O.B. Pierce, Dwight Pierce, J.D. Pierce, Marion (PeeWee) Pierce, six sisters: Edith Powell, Nina Aderholt, Ruth Prichard, Helen Hyde, Betty Starkey, and Katherine Hansard, and many close friends.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, from 4-7pm at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Pl, Bellevue. A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 East Center St., Bellevue, Ohio.

Memorials may be made to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, or St. Jude's Childrens Research Hospital.
