Michael “Ty” Shober, 47, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026 at The Bellevue Hospital. He was born February 26, 1979 in Louisville, Kentucky the son of Joanne (Buday) Shober.
Ty was first and foremost a devoted family man, a loving husband, and a wonderful father. He treasured every moment spent with his loved ones, and his presence brought immeasurable joy and warmth to his home. He will forever be remembered for his infectious, big smile that could light up any room, and for giving the absolute best, most comforting hugs. These simple acts of affection were a true expression of his generous and loving spirit.
Beyond his dedication to family, Ty possessed an ardent passion for sports. He was a loyal and unwavering fan, dedicating his heart to his favorite teams: the Cleveland Browns, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and the Bellevue Redmen. His enthusiasm was contagious, often leading to spirited, joyful gatherings to watch a game.
Ty's commitment to his community, particularly its youth, was profound. He believed in the power of mentorship and served as a dedicated coach for many young people in Bellevue. He spent countless hours on the field, coaching fifth and sixth-grade football for the Bellevue Youth Football Foundation, where he instilled not just the rules of the game but also the values of teamwork, discipline, and sportsmanship. His positive influence extended to youth baseball teams as well, demonstrating his commitment to guiding the next generation in all aspects of life.
Ty married Nickole (Brant) on July 16, 2005 at the Bronson Conservation Club in Norwalk. She survives along with sons, Payton (Morgan) Shober of Bellevue and Zander Shober of Bellevue; daughters, Jaleigh Shober of Bellevue and Reighlynn Shober of Bellevue; brother, Brian (Laurel) Shober of Norwalk; sisters, Kelly Arbogast and Jenny (Matt Pierce) Herman; brothers-in-law, Josh (Rachel) Brant and Jeremy (Jennifer) Brant; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his mother, Ty is preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Chad Damron; and friend, Kevin Taraschke.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 from 3-8 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. Everyone attending is encouraged to wear Cleveland Browns, Ohio State, or Bellevue Redmen attire. Funeral services and burial in Bellevue Cemetery will be held privately.
