Mary Ann (Kleinosky) Clapp, a beloved member of the Flat Rock community, passed away at the age of 67, on Friday May 29, 2026, at the Bellevue Hospital with family close by. She was born on July 28,1958, daughter of the late Robert and Eileen Kleinosky.
She graduated from Bellevue High School where she met then later married the love of her life Ronald Clapp on February 4, 1977 in Flat Rock, OH. Together they built their life around their family with 4 sons, Mary Ann and Ron were married for 41 years before he preceded her in death.
Mary Ann is survived by their 4 sons: Randy (Kozue) Clapp of Bellevue, Phillip (Rachel) Clapp of Fremont, Richard (Karen) Clapp of Castalia, and Nick (Shannon) Clapp of Flat Rock; 9 grandchildren: Ashley (Joe) Chaffin, Brittney, Matt, Emily, Tyler, Aaron, Zachary, Kaito and Benjamin; and 3 great-grandchildren: Isaiah, Tommy, and Abigail Chaffin.
Mary Ann enjoyed cooking for her family and had her extended family begging for her tapioca pudding at the Annual Clapp Family Thanksgiving. She was a lover of animals, at one time living out her dream of being a horse owner. Later she adopted her beloved companion, Charlie the Chihuahua, who she took with her everywhere. If you saw Mary Ann driving around town you would see Charlie in the window with her. She took pride in so many things including her Flat Rock community (especially the Flat Rock 4th of July celebration), watching her boys follow in the motorcycle ways of Ron, and her special lifelong friendship with Pat and Brenda Robertson.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ron Clapp; grandson, Koki Clapp; and her parents: Robert and Eileen Kleinosky.
Mary Ann’s family invites you to join in remembering her on Thursday, June 4, 2026, from 2-4 & 6-8:00pm at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, OH 44811. The family will also be hosting a Celebration of Life on July 4, 2026, following the Flat Rock July 4th Parade at Mary Ann’s house.
