Marlene Van Fleet, 87, of Clyde, passed away Monday, June 14, 2021 at The Willows at Bellevue. She was born January 6, 1934 in Bellevue, Ohio the daughter of Milton and Lena (Gerber) Douglas.
Marlene was a 1952 graduate of Bellevue High School. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Clyde and also the Women of the Moose. Marlene enjoyed crocheting, camping, gardening, and canning. Her greatest love was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She married Lynn B. Van Fleet on June 27, 1953 at the Immaculate Conception Parsonage in Bellevue; He preceded her in death in 2010.
She is survived by her two sons: Jeffrey Van Fleet and John (Carol) Van Fleet; two daughters, Judy (William) Tea and Joanne (Todd) Bower; and 8 grandchildren: Rob (Holly) LaBute, Erin (Matt) Wolph, Deana (Mike) Donovan, Jeremiah (LaRue) Van Fleet, Mary Brittany (Jaret) Stiltner, Kayleigh Van Fleet, Brady (Katie) Tea, and Justin Van Fleet; and 13 great grandchildren.
Marlene is preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sisters, Marian Christopher, Justine Snowden, and Ruth Douglas.
Friends will be received Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Foos Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 504 E. McPherson, Clyde from 5 – 7 pm. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 18, 2021, at 10:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 609 Vine St, Clyde. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Clyde.
