Marjorie (Friend) Solander

Marjorie M. (Friend) Solander, 94, of Arizona and formerly of Bellevue passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023, in Chandler, Arizona.  She was born August 13, 1929, in Bellevue the daughter of Irvin and Margaret (Callaghan) Friend.

Marjorie was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, St. Christopher Study Club, the Altar Rosary Society, and the Ohio Literary Club.  She was a graduate of St. Vincent’s Mercy School of Nursing and was employed as a Registered Nurse at the Bellevue Hospital for many years.

Marjorie married George W. Solander on October 6, 1951, in Bellevue.  He preceded her in death in 2018.

She is survived by her daughter, Margaret “Peggy” Marshall of Phoenix; son, George C. (Rebecca) Solander of Sycamore; grandchild, Kathryn Marshall of Phoenix; and sister, Carolyn J. Nieset.

In addition to her husband and parents, Marjorie is preceded in death by her daughter, Amy Solander; grandson, C. Lance Marshall; and an infant son.

Friends will be received on Monday, October 30, 2023, from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  A funeral Mass will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Immaculate Conception Church, 231 E. Center Street, Bellevue.  Burial will follow at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.
