Marilynn Miller, age 89 of Bellevue, passed away Sunday, June 30, 2024, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, OH. Marilynn was born February 26, 1935, in Huron, OH, the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Lemmon) Yahn. A very proud graduate of Huron High School.
If Marilynn knew you, she fed you. And if she knew you well, she fed you your favorite foods every chance she got.
Handwritten cookie recipes said things like “makes 10-12 dozen”, and off to the side were written the measurements for tripling the recipe. Because food, like love, is meant to be shared and abundant.
Marilynn loved dogs, reading, crocheting, crafting and sewing. She also loved watching the Cleveland Guardians baseball on TV.
She loved her kids and grandkids and great-grands. And her friends; such wonderful friends she had.
She learned to play piano at a very young age, and taught piano to many students over the years; she most of all loved playing organ or piano at her church. On Sunday June 23 she played piano at her church’s service for the last time; and then on Sunday June 30 at 8:15am she left this earth and no doubt joined her beloved Norman for services in heaven. Maybe she even played piano for a couple of the songs there.
Marilynn is survived by her children: Laurie Miller of Clyde, Marjorie (Gary) Yonek of Huron, and Norman Miller, Jr, of Waterford, OH; grandchildren: Zach (Jessie) Yonek, Michael Miller, Vanessa (Robert) Carter, Kira (Andrew) Johnson, Ethan Miller, Jase Miller, and Gavin Miller; great-grandchildren: Addilyn, Melody, Robbie, Nolan, Jovie, and Judah; sister-in-law, Linda Yahn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Marilynn is preceded in death by her husband, Norman Miller, Sr, whom she married on May 4, 1957; and brother, Melville Yahn.
Friends will be received on Saturday, July 6, 2024, from 10:00am until a memorial service beginning at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Bellevue, 4742 Prairie Rd, Bellevue, OH 44811.
Memorial donations may be made in Marilynn’s honor to the First Baptist Church of Bellevue.
