Marie Alma Miller, 91, of Republic, passed away Friday, April 25, 2025 at The Bellevue Hospital. She was born August 25, 1933 in Frenchtown, Ohio, the daughter of Leo and Esther (Schneider) Brandt.
Marie married Arthur W. Miller on October 17, 1953 at St. Nicholas Church in Frenchtown. She worked as a bookkeeper for Arthur W. Miller Trucking Company, helped farm with her family, and drove a school bus for Seneca East Schools for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church and the former Reed Assumption Church, where she served on the Altar Rosary Society for each church. A loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, she enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, and was an excellent cook.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Elmlinger of Monroeville; son, Donald R. (Lynn) Miller of Attica; 6 grandchildren: Marie (Charles) Shultz, Katherine (Bryan) Nobles, John (Megan) Elmlinger, Michelle (Brian) Bischoff, Jeffrey (Crystal) Miller, and Tiffany (Jordan) Halcomb; 16 great grandchildren: Kennadi, Kaleb, Colton, Landen, Brayden, Graysen, John James, Benjamin, Madelyn, Elyse, Amber, Devin, Tyler, Wesley, Alayna, and Caleb; brothers, Edward (Ruth) Brandt and Leonard (Terri) Brandt; and sister, Berneda Grine.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by son-in-law, John Elmlinger, and brother-in-law, Vincent Grine.
Friends will be received on Thursday, May 1, 2025 from 4-7 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue where the Rosary will be recited at 3:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will begin on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Gaspar del Bufalo Church, 16209 East County Road 46, Bellevue. Burial will follow at Reed Assumption Cemetery.
