Maria Shell

Maria Shell, age 68, of Bellevue, OH passed away peacefully on October 27, 2025, at The Willows of Bellevue. Maria was born on June 30, 1957 in Toledo, OH, the daughter of Hartyoun Tchobanian  and Nancy (Wilmoth) Saneholtz.

Maria was a loving mother and devoted grandmother who found her greatest joy in her family. She especially adored her grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them. Maria was a “baton grandma” to her granddaughter Madison, as well as her friends, during their time with Hi-Society Baton Corps. A strong and hardworking woman, Maria dedicated her life to providing for her children and ensuring they always felt loved and supported. Known for her wonderful sense of humor, she kept those around her smiling until the very end. Maria was also a proud and active member of the TOPS support group, where she deeply valued the friendship and encouragement she found among its members.

Maria is survived by her mother, Beverly Tchobanian; sons, Derrick (Kristin) Shell and Joshua (Krista) Shell; daughter, Amanda Vanelli; grandchildren, Brendan Shell, Madison Shell, Ali Malone, and Kellen Malone; and siblings, Becky Mugler, Tami Kromenacker, and Timbob “Timberly” Kromenacker. 

Maria is preceded in death by her father, Paul Saneholtz; and brother, Jon Tchobanian.
