Lonnie Ray Oney

Lonnie Ray Oney, 77, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at his home.  He was born December 3, 1943 in Willard, Ohio, the son of John and Ella (Cole) Oney.

Lonnie was a 1961 graduate of New London High School.  Lonnie then served in the United States Air Force as a Postal Specialist from 1963 until 1966.  After serving his country, Lonnie was employed by Columbus Showcase for 21 years and then worked for CertainTeed for 16 years until his retirement in 2006.  He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary (Parlett) Oney; two sons, Kevin (Jennifer) Oney and Geoff (Sarah) Oney; a daughter, Vickie Oney; grandchildren: Nathan Oney, Shelby Oney, and Megan (Oney) Englehardt; and siblings, Jim Oney of New London, Clyde Oney of Radcliff, KY, Tammy Parlett of Greenwich, OH and Cathy Amburgy of Newton Falls, OH.

In addition to his parents, Lonnie is preceded in death by his sisters, Connie Oney, Janice Rowe, and Lois Jones; brothers: Roger, Wayne, Terry, and David Oney; a granddaughter, Halley Oney; and grandson, Kaleb Oney.

Friends will be received on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 3-5 p.m. at Foos and Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.  Burial with Military Honors will be in Bellevue Cemetery, Friday, Oct. 8, 2021 at 2 pm.
