Linda McCarthy, a beloved member of the Bellevue community, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, March 15, 2026, at the age of 76. She was born on February 20, 1950, in Sandusky, Ohio, to the late Fred and Aline (Brogneaux) Scott.
After graduating from Sandusky High School, Linda devoted 28 years of her professional life at Ford Motor Co. in Sandusky. However, her true passion lay in the arts, particularly crafting. Known for her creativity and meticulous attention to detail, Linda was always working on a new project and looking forward to the next holiday season. Her passion for crafting naturally spilled over into her love for making her house a home. She also had a soft spot for animals, with a special place in her heart for her cherished dog, Chloe.
Linda is survived by her loving sons, Rex (Melanie) Melson of Bellevue and Jayson (Julie) Melson of Sandusky; grandchildren, Kyle Melson and Brooklyn Melson; great-grandson, Asher Barnhart; brother, Tom (Mary Kay) Scott; and sister, Sharron (Don) Suter. She was preceded in death by her siblings, David Scott and Carol Crawford.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Monday, March 23, with visitation at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, from 2 p.m. until a memorial service begins at 5 p.m. Linda will be remembered for her kind heart, creative spirit, and unwavering love for her family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
