Les Sherman, 76, of Bellevue passed away Thursday, October 3, 2024 at The Bellevue Hospital. He was born December 13, 1947 in Bellevue the son of Carl and Mary (Corwin) Sherman.
Les was a graduate of Bellevue High School. He served in the United States Army in Germany and Vietnam. After his time in the service, Les was employed at Norfolk & Southern Railroad as a Engineer until his retirement I 2008. Les was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, he was an avid reader and enjoyed going for walks. He loved spending time in his backyard tending to his native plants, along with feeding the birds at watching them. Les was an active volunteer at Fish & Loaves in Bellevue.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Nancy (Wybensinger), whom he married February 4, 1967 at Immaculate Conception Church in Bellevue; three daughters: Leslie Kay (Harold) Dirnberg of Clyde, Lisa (Steve) Shaffer of Bellevue and Heather (Brandi) Sherman Bartley of Bellevue; 4 grandchildren: Cory, Marisa, Adam, and Nathan; 3 great grandchildren: Scarlette, James, and Finley; brother, Brian Sherman of Bellevue; and sister, Diane Patten of Bellevue.
Les is preceded in death by his parents.
Private family services will be observed. Foos & Foos Funeral Service, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
