Leona A. McLoughlin

Leona A. (Claus) McLoughlin (91) of Mechanicsville, Virginia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 15, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Bellevue, Ohio to Jacob and Veronica (Scherley) Claus. She graduated from Bellevue High School in 1949.

She is survived by a daughter, Colleen (McLoughlin) Maitland; a son, George B. (Aiza) McLoughlin, grandchildren: Matthew Maitland, Sarah (Mike) McNeill, Caitlin (Josh) Latimer, Mary Katherine (Shane) Rodriguez, George M. McLoughlin; great granddaughters: Madeline and Mathilda McNeill, all of Virginia; her sisters: Rita Welsch, San Diego CA; Eileen (Clayton) Siesel, Bellevue, and brother, Jake (June) Claus, Huron. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by two sons, Michael J. McLoughlin and Steven G. McLoughlin; her sisters: Alma (Bernard) Alt; Stella (James) Perrine; Rosemary (Walter) Mesenburg.

Leona was a faithful Catholic and member of the Church of the Redeemer in Mechanicsville, Virginia where a mass will be offered in her memory on November 5.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held in Bellevue, Ohio at 11 am, Saturday, Nov. 12 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 231 E. Center St., followed by internment of her ashes at Bellevue Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to any local chapter of NAMI (Nat. Alliance of Mental Illnesses), or to donor's choice.
