Larry Petrey

On November 18th, 2019, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and foster brother Larry P Petrey passed away. He was born April 1st, 1946 in Bellevue, Ohio to Betty and Robert Petrey. He was raised by his grandparents Helen and Robert Pittenger till age ten then by his amazing foster parents Michael and Peg Tuttamore. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1964. He was a proud Marine and served from 1965 to 1969 and was in Vietnam 1966 to 1967.

In 1962 Larry met his wife Betty (Elizabeth Hilson) while babysitting their cousins and they have been together ever since. They married on August 5th, 1967 in Norwalk and have two sons Patrick and Kevin. Larry and Betty settled in Norwalk after his discharge in 1969 where he worked as a power plant operator then after completing his power plant engineering course in 1974 became a power plant engineer and he worked for Ohio Edison for twenty-two years. In 1991 he and Betty moved to Fort Wayne Indiana where he worked for Uniroyal Goodrich in the powerhouse until his retirement in 2004.

Larry enjoyed camping, boating, and his motorcycle but his passion in his younger years was Golf. After he retired, he truly enjoyed being at home, visiting his children, and doting on his grandchildren. His favorite activities were going to the movies, watching cowboy shows on TV, and reading his kindle (He is currently on number twenty-one).

Larry was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, Uncle Mike Tuttamore, and brother Rick Petrey, his stepsisters Chris and Carol and stepbrother Rob. He is survived by his wife Betty Petrey, Sons Patrick (Lorie) and Kevin (Katina), grandchildren Melody (Ashley), Thomas, Evan, Emily, Hannah, Christopher, and Andrew (Cassady); his sibling/cousins Michael (Diana), Michele (Ken), Margo (Roger), Marcia (Jerry)and his Niece Renee (Clarence), recently reunited step sisters Cheryl Livingston and Penny Luna. Along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Saturday, December 7, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until a memorial service officiated by Fr. Jonathon Wight begins at 2:30 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue, Ohio 44811.
