Larry C. Gregory

Larry Clark Gregory, age 81 of Fremont, died peacefully at home with loved ones on Sunday, December 20, 2020, after he courageously battled Parkinson’s and dementia. He was born February 18, 1939 the son of the late Floyd and Erma (Spring) Gregory.

Larry served in the United States Navy from 1956 to 1962. Following his service in the military, he joined the Bellevue Fire Department as a firefighter in 1967, a Lieutenant in 1968, the Fire Chief in 1970, and then became State Fire Marshall in 1990 until 2010.

Larry is survived by his wife, Barbara Anne (Pelton) Gregory, whom he married December 31, 1989 in Monroeville; 2 sons: Daniel L. Gregory and Jeramiah Clark Gregory; 2 step-sons: Jeffery S. Pelton and John T. Pelton; step-daughter, Debra K. Natole; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 4 siblings: James (Helena) Gregory, Gale (Betty) Gregory, Gary (Denise) Gregory, and Helen (Larry) Slater.

In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by his daughter, Veronica Tipple; step-son, P. Gregory Pelton; grandsons: Jedidiah Logan and Josiah Natole; and brother, John Gregory.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on August 21, 2021 at the Riverfront Marina, 4257 OH-53, Fremont, OH 43420.
