Larran Meador Obituary

Wilford Larran Meador, 70, of Bellevue passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at his home.  He was born March 8, 1949 in West Virginia the son of Wilford and Betty (Dowell) Meador. 

Larran was a 1967 graduate of Bellevue Senior High School where he participated in football, wrestling, and track.  Larran went on to play football for Bowling Green State University where he would earn 3 letters and served as Captain of the 1971 Football team.  Following the 1971 football season, Larran received Second Team All Mid-American Conference Honors.  Following graduation from BGSU, Larran returned to Bellevue.  He was employed by Bellevue City Schools for 30 years where he worked as a Physical Education, Health, and Driver’s Education teacher.  During his 30 years Larran served as assistant coach of the Redmen football team for 20 years.  He retired from teaching in 2006 and was inducted into the Bellevue Athletic Hall of Fame in 2009.  Larran was always good for a joke, a laugh, or watching a football game, he was tough on the outside and soft on the inside and touched a lot of lives as a coach, a teacher and a friend.

Larran is survived by his daughter, Dana (Paul) Ciccarello of Cuyahoga Falls and their son, Joseph Larran Meador; his companion, Deb Kinderman; step-children: Lindsay Kinderman, Heather Kinderman, Derek Kinderman, and Carly Kinderman; step grandchildren: Ryker Binger, River Binger, and Colette Hartley; his mother, Betty (Dick Witter) Meador; sister, Lisa Meador; nephew, Luke Chumley; and former wife, Susan (Norman) Meador.

He is preceded in death by his father; brother, David W. Meador; and uncle, Dan Meador.

At Larran’s request there will be no services.  Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue is in care of arrangements.
