Kathleen “Pat” Charles, 95, of Fremont and Jupiter, Florida, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2021, at the Jupiter Medical Center in the company of family members.
She was born on September 14, 1925, in Rochdale, Lancaster, England, the daughter of the late Richard Brannick and Mary (Kelly) Brannick. As a child, she excelled in school and was an avid tennis player. She graduated from Rochdale Municipal High School for Girls and went to work as a clerk at the City Hall during WWII.
On March 7, 1945, Pat married George W. Charles, a U.S. Army Airman stationed in Manchester, England during the War. As a new mother, she immigrated to the United States with her husband and son and settled outside Bellevue.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail P. Charles, her son-in-law, David P. Coletti, and her daughter-in-law Deborah (Carr) Charles.
In addition, Kathleen was preceded in death by her husband, George; her son, Lyn R. Charles and one sister, Mary (Brannick) Mark.
Kathleen retired from Whirlpool Corporation in 1987 where she worked for nearly 35 years. She was a member of the First United Church of Christ and Fremont Country Club as she was an avid golfer.
Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 9 at the funeral home followed by a committal service at Meadow Green Memorial Park, 2602 Bogart Road, Huron. Family members will also host a reception in celebration of her life at the Victorian Tudor Inn, 408 W. Main Street, Bellevue from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on Friday.
Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association in her memory.
