Karen Zontini Obituary

Karen Zontini, 79, of Bellevue passed away Saturday, February 14, 2026 at her home surrounded by her family.  She was born August 31, 1946 in Martins Ferry, Ohio the daughter of Avery and Thelma (Harris) Frye.

Karen married the love of her life, Martin Zontini Sr., after four dates and together they shared 47 years until his passing in 2012. 

Karen was a woman of deep faith; her devotion to God was a driving force in her life. This unwavering faith was a legacy she instilled in her grandchildren. Above all, she was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She treasured time spent with family, especially when playing games like "Farkle." In her younger years, she enjoyed fishing trips and pontoon boat rides, as well as cruising with her husband on their Goldwing motorcycle.

She is survived by her son, Martin P. (Pam) Zontini Jr.; daughters, Cari Jean Unsworth and Joanna Kay Sutter; 5 grandchildren: Kayla, Zachary, Alyssa (Garrett) Jessica (Jonathan) and Avery (Angel); 6 great grandchildren; twin brother, Kenneth Frye; and sister, Patricia (Richard) Byers.

In addition to her parents and husband, Karen is preceded in death by her son, John Zontini; and brothers, Ronald and Raymond Frye.

Friends will be received on Saturday, February 21, 2026 from Noon until a memorial service begins at 3 p.m. at Foos & Foos Funeral Service, 151 Yorkshire Place, Bellevue.
